It's a good hotel but with some flaws.
On the positive side, the breakfast, the bars, the service. It's also very well located. Easy to get taxis and ubers.
But the rooms really need to be refurbished. Old furniture, old bathrooms and very noisy. No minibar in the room. You pay 2,5 USD for the coffee bags (only 1st one is for free).
Something else I didn't like was the fact that they didn't ask for the credit card and then expect you to pay everything (laundry, bars, room service, etc) every time.
"Visit again and much better"
I have recently traveled to Mexico and stayed again in Fiesta Americana Reforma.
I checked in on Friday night late. There was some congress in hotel and my reserved room was not available so we were upgraded to Jr Suite.
WOW ... what a treat.
Room was recently remodeled. It was so nice and comfortable that we stayed the most of the weekend in this comfortable room. Next time I'll go I will book the suite right a way.
As I said hotel was very crowded and busy all weekend but all hotel employees handled this situation perfectly with top professionalism and courtesy. As always before they made us to feel home.
"Awesome last minute find"
I arrived in Mexico City at 10:30 at night. Having some flight issues at the airport, I was left with devastatingly long layover and nowhere to sleep. After looking online I was able to find a great deal for a standard room at this hotel through lastminutetravel.com. Unfortunately, for some reason my reservation didn't arrived by the time I did(around 1am). I don't know why this was, but the staff, especially a young man named Jesus, was extremely helpful and accommodating. They were able to contact a representative from lastminutetravel.com and though they still didn't have my reservation, booked me at no additional cost.
I had a standard, yet very spacious and clean, room with a wonderfully comfortable king bed. The view from my room was amazing! Like most hotels, they provided fresh towels and new toiletries every day that were surprisingly good quality. I tend to be a snob about hair and skin care products. They also provided a dental hygiene kit, a mini sewing kit, and a shoe polisher, which I had not seen in a hotel before. They're little blow dryer was also surprisingly powerful.
I don't normally order room service for breakfast because Hotel food is, well, Hotel food, but having arrived so late the night/morning before, I was very tired and felt like breakfast in bed was the way to go. This was an excellent decision. Their Mexican breakfast was delicious! I still fantasize about it. Everything was fresh and the portions are easily enough for a couple to share.
I stayed for two weeks in the hotel. I enjoyed very much the service level and people how they were sensitive with my vegan diet.
It's not so trivial that and they made it.
About the rooms they are ok.
The gym is small and there is no pool. Maybe next time I will be there they will have a new pool....
I wanted to spend my golden birthday in Mexico city. The hotel was big and also my room was on the 18th floor. Great view of the city at night. Cab service was expensive and slow. I was locked out of my room on my birthday. However the hotel brought a nice cake, balloons, and hats, up to my room. Very nice and memorable.
