Stayed here for a weekend - really enjoyed the hotel.
Def pay the extra $$ for the renovated rooms on the Fiesta Club floor. Very nice rooms, good breakfast and evening appetizers, good city view, etc. Location is perfect, short and cheap cab ride to city center.
Would stay here again.
The room was beautiful and newly remodeled. However, it was apparent that it had not been cleaned recently. Our stay was 6 days and during that time, the bathrooms and shower were not cleaned. I am not very picky about the rooms but I require that they are clean. For this reason I have down graded the experience.
"Where to stay in Guadalajara"
Right next to bustling Minerva Circle, there's something for everyone at Fiesta Americana. Leaving home, but you need to see a little of home when you're abroad? Starbucks and Burger King are across the street. Looking for some authentic local dishes in a local restaurant? There are several that are mere steps away. Street food? There are several carts, and stands within the block. Nightclubs? Health Spas? Tourist Tours? All are within minutes of the hotel. Upscale super market? Just down the street. Need any help? The staff is there to assist. Cheerful, and accommodating, they pride themselves on making your experience better. The rooms are large, modern, clean, and comfortable. ATM on premises, and next door - best bet for getting pesos at a good exchange rate. The area is safe (like any big city, use common sense,) and I felt comfortable on the street late at night.
Really comfort hotel, in the middle of everything, nothing is far than 15 min. excellent location, food really good not like other hotels, the amenities of the place are really awesome. Would use this resort again.
"Lots of noise for a hotel more appropriate for Cancun or some other beach site"
The Fiesta Americana is one of a generation of high-rise hotels built around an atrium that works like an echo chamber. Its personnel were very welcoming and helpful, but couldn't overcome the unfortunate coincidence of our visit with that of 300 noisy Mexican adolescents on some sort of training sponsored by a University in Monterrey. The group was virtually uncontrolled and since they were dispersed throughout the hotel, there were many complaints from other guests. This apparently happens twice a year, and while in the past the group was not only noisy but destructive (according to staff had destroyed rooms and thrown items off the balconies overlooking the atrium) the hotel has continued to receive them. This is a favorite site for groups visiting Guadalajara although the other two arriving during our one-week stay were much better behaved. The hotel's design -- windows can't be opened leaving a choice between hot and stuffy or overactive air conditioning -- strikes me as more appropriate for a beach site where guests can spend time outside and only retreat to the rooms to sleep. Location is OK, but given Guadalajara's layout it is probably hard to find an ideal site. I gather the price was agreeable although as the 4 of us (on a business trip) didn't pay directly, we only know it must have been under $180 a night (including taxes). Although the hotel wrote me a note apologizing for all the inconveniences and offering an upgrade on my next visit (which I had anyway after complaining about the noise in the room next door), I will not visit again
Please be advised that until January 31th 2017, the hotel gym will be currently under maintenance. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause.
