"Billed twice - BE CAREFUL"
Hotel staff were not able to refund me. I was billed twice. My company prebooked and paid in order to confirm the rooms. Upon checkout I was not given a confirmation of payment. Instead when I checked out and left, I was sent an invoice. Why was I double billed and why have I not received a return of my money??? Terrible billing and feedback from the hotel.
"Muy lujoso / Very luxurious"
Nos encantó este hotel... super comodo, muy bien cuidado y con el mejor desayuno de Mexico. Recomendamos las margaritas de Marlene! We loved staying here... it's beautiful and very well maintained. Go to the bar for Marlene's margaritas!
"Excellent in all respects"
I recommend highly, for friendliness, cleanliness, quality, and ease of transport to/from Merida airportThe breakfast was amazing in terms of selection, with lots of local specialities. I was there for a conference, and didn't get chance to try the pool or spa.
"My recent stay in Merida, Mexico"
The Fiesta Americana is a lovely hotel nestled near Paseo Montejo and not far to travel 20 min to the downtown area. The staff is professional and warm. Our room which I preferred with a view if there was one to be had, unfortunately was on the first floor and smack dead next to the pool where tables are situated almost next to your bedroom window. We couldn't change the room because it was the day before New Years and the hotel was at capacity. So we endured and try to make the best of it albeit the constant noise and music of guest right outside our window. We asked twice to have the table removed so that people at the pool would have to sit elsewhere, but unfortunately, the staff made promises that were not fulfilled. The food at the hotel has a sizable selection of recognizable options and Yucatan specialties. Unfortunately, there were too many pork options as the main staples. So if you're religious or have health issues that are regulated by diet, this is a pork heavy restaurant which is unfortunate. In another observation regarding the food, the don't have adequate heating trays therefore your food will be luke warm or at best cold before you reach your table. The juice selection is great and varied and the hotel has excellent coffee. This is not a place for rice, almond, 2% milk lovers. This hotel has to main restaurants, one that host the breakfast buffet and the other for lunch and dinner. There is a bar with a huge terrace and I might add that the margaritas are huge, cheap and well made. There is a coffee and snack bar. Downstairs, this hotel has its own mall of stores that has an array of items to purchase should you opt to.Unlike most hotel desk I've experiences around the world, this desk doesn't exchange currency. You have to go downstairs via the escalator to the currency exchange office. Be advised that New Year's eve and New Years day they are closed, and they are not open late. I will say that it's not the worse place I've stayed and there is room for improvements. The wi-fi worked great, but they could modernize their phone system which is not to be desired and looks like an antique from a time long, long ago. If you're not picky, and have a "wing it personality" and have average expectations, this is a good place to stay because the staff are professional and gracious.
"Best place"
This was a fantastic place to stay. I even forgot something and they emailed me that they would send it for me. The breakfast buffet was incredible. I think it’s one of the best that I’ve ever had. I even forgot something and they emailed me that they would send it for me. The breakfast buffet was incredible. I think it’s one of the best that I’ve ever had. There were so many different types of Yucatán food and you could taste and you could try them all in one safe place.
