Very good value. Not as modern as some of the newer all inclusives, but friendly staff, good food, large rooms, and nice pool. If you are planning a stay in Cozumel, this is a good option. I will likely stay at the Fiesta Americana on my next visit to Cozumel.
"Hotel needs updteing but service was good"
The hotel needs some work and they are in the process of giving it a better look with paint and redoing the pool but it needs to be a lot more than that. The restaurants are good but they look very plain and not any personality.
"Another great visit"
My wife and I stayed at the FA Cozumel for two weeks in December 2017, and decided to return for another 12 days at the end of October this year. We enjoyed the staff so much last year, that it felt like returning to family this year. This is a nice and comfortable 3+ star resort. Improvements have been made to the facility in the past year, including an upgrade to the pool, and new doors to the rooms. If you want a walk-in beachfront or a walk on the beach, this is not the place. If you want nice snorkeling steps away from your beach bed, then this will work fine for you. Last year we had a room on the 6th floor, this year we had the fourth floor. The higher floor definitely has a better of the ocean, but from the fourth floor we could still see the pool and ocean. Food in all the restaurants was very good. No complaints at all. We seem to eat earlier than most, so we never had to wait for a seat, except occasionally if we ate a late breakfast at the buffet. But once again, the thing that makes FA Cozumel special is the people. We saw many of the staff that we met last year, and a few that we really liked were gone. Arturo, the Headwaiter/floor lead took VERY good care of us and recognized us right away upon our arrival. He was constantly making sure we had everything we needed or wanted. We really appreciate him! Maza, another Floor Lead, also made sure we were comfortable and looked after. At the bar, was our friend Emmanuel. Last year, we taught him a drink that we liked, one which he was unfamiliar with. Upon seeing us again, he remembered exactly the drink and how to make it, a year later! We were very impressed. We enjoyed Emmanuel again this year. Other bartenders also took good care of us including Irving, Juan and Osmond.Aaron was still there, taking care of us on the ‘Beach.’ He has got to be one of the hardest workers there, running up and down the beach delivering drinks and food rapidly and accurately. No one compares to him. Thanks Aaron! At the coffee shop, Lucano always greeted us with a smile and our coffees. Hostess Evan remembered us from our previous visit and is a real sweetheart. Alexandra took care of us at the buffet most days and is greatly appreciated. The wait staff were all great. Luico, Manual, Fabian and Daniel were all very good and we appreciated them taking such good care of us. At the Cevicheria, Marco and Glendy were great as usual. Jose, one of our favorites from last year was on vacation most of the time we were there, until our last full day. When we saw each other, he greeted us with a warm hug and remembered us like it was yesterday. We give Him and his colleagues at the Cevicheria the highest marks! We did have a dinner arranged for us one evening at the Explorian. Enrique and his staff were a delight and we appreciated their services and friendliness.Maria and Fab made the entertainment staff special , making our stay fun and always had a warm smile for us. And hats-off to Fanny, our housekeeper. She kept our suit clean and wonderful. Thanks Fanny! There are plenty others that I cannot remember names, but once again, the staff is what makes this place special. Only one staff member was a bit of a disappointment, the grill cook at the Grill. He didn’t seem to care if we were there or not, did not acknowledge my presences, and way undercooked our burgers. There is new management staff since last year, and there were times that we could sense some tension in the staff. There also seemed to be fewer staff this year than last. I hope the management remembers that a happy staff is what will keep us coming back. We have been to many different resorts in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabo, etc. This is one of the few that we have come back to, and plan to visit again. It’s because of the staff. To paraphrase Marco…”Happy Staff, Happy Life!”
"FIESTA AMERICANA - ALWAYS FANTASTIC!"
just spent another fantastic 10 days at FAVC- and loved every minute of it; for us, the fantastic service provided by the entire staff is what we look forward to the most; over the years, many have become friends and it is always a happy reunion when we can return and spend time in our home away from home; it starts the moment you arrive with the smiles and greetings - then PEDRO, SERGIO, and EDUARDO handle all of your luggage assistance needs; EMILIO at the front desk - handles the room check-in details quickly and efficiently because he knows you are eager to get started with your vacation; in a few minutes you are back down in the lobby bar area and chat with BRENDA or ANGELICA (a long time friend) or MIGUEL HERRERA (our concierge) to help plan our week: MANY THANKS to MIGUEL as he directed us to an apple phone repair shop on 65th Ave where my wife's phone was expertly repaired in 1 hour! was a great relief! soon GLENDY comes by and takes your drink order and vacation has officially started! I must say we visited GLENDY quite often and her service was excellent; also, ALBERTO at the lobby bar did a great job; we always had excellent service and great food at all of the restaurants and cevecheria- at breakfast, LUCIO was always "our man" in the morning and also had great service from HECTOR, SALVADOR, AND EMANUEL; the same goes for lunch; at dinner, MANUEL and SALVADOR were always right on the spot with what ever we needed; and VICTORIA did a great job cleaning our room; I know there were others that helped make our vacation great and i apologize for not remembering all of their names; plan your next vacation at FAVC- you will love it!
"Still a nice resort, some issues"
We stayed at the hotel for the second time this year. The hotel still is one of the smallest hotels on the island, food is still very good for all inclusive, the hotel is well run and maintained. This year I made a booking via the hotel website to find out that for three rooms for seven nights it was 1000 dollars cheaper via booking.com, so we altered our booking after they told us that they couldn't make the same price. We reserved king rooms close to each other, a think they couldn't provide although they weren't fully booked (they were at 80%), so we ended up in doubles - beds were far too small to sleep two people comfortably. They charged full price for my five-year-old daughter, which is ridiculous as she didn't consume at all. It's a nice resort, but the price policy favors middle-aged american tourists drinking all day - a thing I don't necessarily need for an entire week in the caribbean.
