Nice to see that service and a good hotel in the heart of acapulco
Staff is very attentive and the hotel is on very good conditions.
Nice views from the room and the pool area is very nice
Would recommend this hotel if you are in acapulco
"Great hotel great location "
We stayed here in August September 2017 the staff were excellent and the room we stayed in was huge with an amazing view of the bay.
It is not a 5 star hotel and is getting old but if you look beyond that it is in a great location and well priced. Take some ear plugs for Friday and Saturday nights because the nearby bars are loud.
"Very Disappointed - Wasted Time and Money - Would not go back."
May 13-20, 2017 - Fiesta Americana has their own membership program and had promotions going all week. The hotel, pool and beach were packed with large families. Had to be at the pool by 8am to secure lounge chairs. The beach is not private, full of locals. There were ants everywhere, in our suite and all around the pool. Dirty also. There are disco's close, playing music all night. There is an annual motorcycle rally which started on the 18th. The noise from the street was unbearable. We did not sleep the entire week. Food was average. Nothing open late. Did not feel safe outside of the resort. Hired a private car to travel everywhere. The staff was very nice. There is a Starbucks on-site.
"fab resort, very clean"
very good hotel, very clean and huge rooms all with a great sea view. just noisy at night due to surrounding nightclubs but everywhere here is like this. Just remember your earplugs! The beach is nice but the sea is quite mucky. There are lots of places to eat nearby and you can go on lots of trips. my son went scuba diving but wasn't very impressed though. He did the Xtasea, the longest zip wire across the ocean. expensive but a great memory.
"The good outweigh the bad"
There was a lot good about this place but there was also some very annoying things. Overall, I would recommend staying here.
-The view from the balcony facing the beach and city is amazing. We were on the 18th floor.
-Room was nice. I like that it had a fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes, forks, knives. Comfortable bed. Clean.
-The pool is nice and I like that it has a view of the ocean. I like how it has access to the beach from the hotel.
-The location is good in that you can walk to various restaurants, bars, mini marts, stores, etc.
-Safe in room for guests to use is great
-Hair dryer, iron, ironbound, couch, dining room table, chairs and table on balcony.
-Check-in: The gentleman who checked us in did a poor job. He works the evening/night shift. I don't know his name. Our reservation was for 7 nights. We had booked from a 3rd party vendor and had the paper work to prove it was paid for 7 nights. He said it showed we were booked for 5 nights. Investigated and finally said. Ok, that's fine, I see we will do an extension. He didn't explain things well though and he left us feeling uneasy. He gave us the paperwork to sign and it said 5 days and showed the date of checkout for 5 days later. He said it is fine and told us to sign it. We signed but made sure to cross of 5 days and wrote in 7, and changed the check out date.
-When we went to the pool for the first time, they said something about needing a different card to check out towels. They said we should have been issued them when we checked in. The guy who registered us never gave us towel cards. The people at the pool were surprised and almost seemed in disbelief at first but then they said it was ok and were nice enough to go get us 2 cards from the front desk. We were annoyed that the guy who checked us in didn't tell us about this and didn't issue us the cards. But after we got them, it was fine. Its kind of annoying to have these cards because if you loose the card you get charged $30.
-Wrist Bands: the front desk guy also didn't tell us anything about being required to get wrist bands. There was a guy hassling us when we arrived with a clipboard telling us he will get us wristbands, but we figured it was just a timeshare thing or he was trying to sell us something. We figured if we really needed wristbands the staff at registration would have told us. Come to find out the day after we arrived, from security, they wanted guests to have bands, so we went and got them. We got them but avoided any offers for free activities or breakfast and said we were not interested in any programs or timeshares. We weren't really hassled from the staff after this but we also did our best to avoid anyone looking to talk about timeshares with the guests. Having the wristband is annoying because it clearly identifies hotel guests as tourists and people at businesses or selling things want to increase the price because they know you are a tourist.
-Re-registering: We went back to the front desk at around day 5 to make sure we were registered to stay 7 nights not 5. The lady explained it. We were fine. We noticed on the paperwork it said they issued us 3 towel cards. (The booking was for 3 adults but we told them only 2 of us came). They never issued us cards at registration and we were issued 2 cards by the pool staff. They corrected it. But if I hadn't noticed that, it would have been a problem at checkout.
-A/C was out for about 3 days out of the 7 nights we stayed there. That sucked because we are paying for that amenity. In all fairness it wasn't their fault. There were thunder storms and rain, so the electricity went out in the city. Still, I think they could have handled it better. They could have notified the guests, they could have provided some sort of credit or compensation for the inconvenience and they could have notified us when it was back on again.
-Don't open the line of credit/open tab when you register. We opted out when we found out they charge 5,000 pesos and then they credit you back anything you haven't used.
-The shower: You needed to find a trick to get it to come out full pressure from the shower head. If you pulled the tab up, it would fall back down and the water would only come from the bottom or it would dribble from the head. We needed to pull it up all the way, hold it for several seconds and then slowly release.
-Loud: If you are there Thurs-Sunday, you will hear the loud music from the clubs and bars from about 9:30 until 6am. Bring earplugs and you should be fine.
So overall, I would say the good outweighed the bad.
by the way, we had originally booked for 3 adults. Only 2 ended up going. We didn't receive credit for having 1 less person even though we had paid for an additional person, but we were Ok with that because we had paid using a 3rd party vendor, so figured that situation makes it more complicated.
