Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa
Location #10 of 123 hotels in Puerto Vallarta
Summary of qualifications
I think this hotel should be called Fiesta Fantastic instead of Fiesta Americana and I say that still after visiting this hotel for more than 25 years! After my father passed away eight years ago, I have still continued our Thanksgiving tradition of visiting with my wife and 12-year-old son for now what will be for me approximately 26 years in a row. We have found this time of the year to be the most pleasant weather wise (mid 80's & no rain) and without the bigger crowds which normally takes place during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. They have just recently made some marvelous renovations to the Chula Vista Restaurant as well as a new all adults pool with cabanas above it. The Chula Vista is much more spacious and the buffet area is more spread out and organized accordingly. We also really enjoyed the VIP sitting area ( reserved for guests staying on the ninth and eighth level) in the morning which is now called the Veranda and was ran by Rafael (who was also a fantastic host on the Fiesta club level at happy hour) with top notch service and a fantastic crew. I would like to mention a few of the people from the Veranda and Chula Vista who continued to provide impeccable service: the hostess Karla who always greeted us with a smile, Rosalio who I believe is one of the individuals that I have known for at least 20 years and has always been super friendly and very kind, Luis the head chef who constantly made great & creative dishes, Luis the waiter, Joshua, Polo who also provided super service at the adult pool, Francisco, Marcos, Kevin, Jesus, Erick and Elizabeth who was especially nice and a great chef at the quesadilla station. I would also like to mention at the family and adult pool the managers Beatrice and Tanya along with Guilermo and Andy. I also cannot forget to mention the great staff and servers at the pool, beach & Cervercheria including Rafael, Miguel, Carlos, Ignacio, Hugo, Jessica and Joel. All of this food and service would not be possible without mentioning the managers Hector, Carlos and Joaquin! And how about the fantastic bartenders Ramon, Ivan and Jesus? We also really appreciated the friendly service of Guadalupe and Patricia at the café:) Without going in any particular order I also need to include the fantastic concierge service of Mariana and Katrina as they were so helpful in arranging our room and transportation from the airport and back. If you are looking to arrange any excursions or trips, Sebastian located near the front desk of the Expedia/Vallarta Adventures was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in organizing our trips from A to Z.
As you know they say the first people you talk or interact with at the beginning of your trip set the tone and that being said the bellboys were as usual so friendly with big happy smile's and very genuine: Sebastian who I believe I have known just as long as Rosalio or perhaps longer, Hector, German, Gustavo, Diego, Orlando, Angel, Carlos & Gerardo - I think these gentlemen sometimes get overlooked and need to receive some recognition. Last but not least I need to send a big shout out and a hug with gratitude to Mike O'Ferrel the sales manager and Sr. Rangel the general manager - these two individuals are truly the heart of what makes this wonderful hotel what it is and truly makes everyone feel very special and appreciated.
We thank you all from the bottom of our heart and truly look forward to seeing you once again next Thanksgiving and happy holidays and a splendid new year to all of you! Marcos, Angelica & Cameroncito:)
"Fiesta Americana PV did not disappoint!!"
We just returned home from a 7 day stay at this resort from December 2-9, 2017. We fell in love! The lobby is stunning. Huge and open air, with shops, coffee and lobby bars. The breeze here is constant as it opens to the pool and ocean. Check in was quick and easy so you can get settled and start exploring right away.
Our accommodations, while just a bit dated, were kept spotlessly clean. Loved the big shower and endless hot water. We were greeted by a breathtaking view of Banderas Bay from our balcony (room 615). We wanted for nothing and the tidy up turndown service in the evening while we were having dinner and enjoying the entertainment was a nice touch.
The staff members at the resort are simply amazing and what made this such a special place for us. We were always greeted with a smile and “Hola”, and most times with a “service from the heart” gesture. This resort runs like a well-oiled machine! Special thanks to Guillermo, Maria, Elizabeth, Andi, Miguel (aka Brad Pitt) and all of the servers, bartenders and housekeeping staff for taking such good care of us and for keeping us busy and entertained.
Food was great, as were the drinks (the frozen mango margarita with chili pepper salt on the rim is pretty awesome). The evening buffet under the stars was fantastic and the Italian restaurant was our fave.
The pool? Beautiful, warm and clean. The beach? Gorgeous - sand groomed daily and the water was heavenly. Don’t be afraid to swim. Just be sensible because the undertow is quite strong and the drop off pretty steep). There are a lot of beach vendors, but no one was rude or overly pushy.
If new to PV, adventure off the resort. We took a cab to the Malecón one day, and took a 5-10 minute walk to La Isla mall on another and really enjoyed both. So much more exploring to do here. This was our first, but definitely not our last trip to PV. And we intend to visit Fiesta Americana again.
"From 1 Star to 5 Stars"
My wife and I were warmly greeted upon arrival and it was quite obvious the staff went out of there way to make us feel welcome. The lobby was beautiful and our first impression was "Wow". The check in procedure was simple and efficient and when we went to our room we were pleased with its size and cleanliness. The bathroom was large and stocked nicely. We then walked around the grounds of the property. It's beautifully landscaped with a huge pool and a staff who's sole purpose is to keep you comfortable and have a drink in hand. We were extremely happy to had choosen this place until we tasted the food. It was horrible. They have an Italian, Mexican and Asian resturant on the grounds in addition to a buffet available for every meal. We ate at all of them and they were all terrible. They cook with a lot of grease and nothing tasted good. The food in the buffet was kept at room temperature which added tothe lack of taste and compromises our heath. We had to go off site to get a decent meal. If this rating was based on service alone it would definitely rate a 5 but we have to eat while here thus the low rating. Because of that we will not be back.
"One to five star award..."
Here is an all inclusive that knows how to showcase their beautiful grounds and architecture. They have an amazing staff always eager to help and anticipate all of our needs. Amenities are plenty although there was no hair dryer in our king luxury room (!)
Issue we ran into was the food quality. All plates look amazing but unfortunately they tasted awful. We tried all of their food areas (bbq grills, seafood by the beach, all their restaurants). The best dish was the Chili relleno at the Mexican restaurant. At the Chula Vista restaurant, top pick was their croissant. 90% of the food is luke warm. This is why we ended up with upset stomach starting day 2 til day 7 when we left. They don't seem to care about food safety, it's all about how it looks.
If they made some serious positive changes in their food department, this would bring them up to a five star across the board. But as of now, l must warn others about their food safety hazards...
Side note: one of our maids actually took my earphone from our room! We came back and l immediately noticed it was missing from my nightstand. The maid was in the hallway so l ran up to her and asked her if she had seen it. At first she denied, then minute later she said she found it in the trash can so she took it out of the trash can and she was going to report it. WTF! She promptly gave it back to me.
So one piece of advice: lock all of your belongings even as small as they seem to be.
This doesn t reflect on the overall of the resort, but there are thieves everywhere, even those who smile at you.
great great hotel we were there for 6 nights enjoyed every night the staff was absolutely fantastic, my wife wanted ice cream as they did not have it by the pool the waiter got her some, wow that is service, we did not find anything wrong in this hotel, this was our six time in PV so far the best, excellent food drinks, room, pool beach, close to malecon, we are definitely going back no more searching for hotels thanks to everyone at the hotel for going out of their way to make our stay great!!!
