Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive & Spa
Location #10 of 123 hotels in Puerto Vallarta
Summary of qualifications
"Frequent traveller, first time at Fiesta"
i travel every year and usually to mexico. I have been to both sides, have been to resorts that rate from 5 star to 3 star. I have to say, Fiesta Americana is a 5 star resort at a 3 star price.
My travel companion and i travelled with another couple who spent two weeks at the Fiesta. All of us have been to many different resorts. Our criteria for a good resort is relatively high and consist of:
Nice room (but doesnt have to be 5 star)
bars that are open late (for those 1am night caps :)
Swim up bar, is a nice to have.
I can tell you that the Fiesta checked all of the boxes and then some.
Our check in was flawless. the front desk staff are very tentative and through out the week acknowledged you as soon as you approached the desk. If you asked for change for tips, they were happy to do it for you. very very good front staff. we were always met with a hardy Spanish good morning. from all staff in the lobby.
The rooms were great. if you are looking for liquor dispensers in your room, they do not have them but cold beer was always in our fridge along with water and sodas. it never left us in the need. The beds were good, no problems at all with the showers, and the views.... the views were always amazing to wake up to.
The pool was crowded but it was a busy week so the towel game is REAL but hey!!!!! everyone plays it. We never had a problem finding chairs and palapa's on the beach.
The pool was good although we found it too warm at times. There is a swim up bar but it is buuuussssy.
The bars. All were great. we chose to go to the bar at the corner of the resort because the swim up was always busy and the bartenders got a little cranky at times but the amount of people that were at the swim-up, who blames them. The other bar was always happy, accommodating, friendly, huge greeting, and knew your drink the 2nd hour after you got there. The evening bar, our group tends to have late night caps. We had no problems with the bar being available for our night cap needs. they had bands a couple times we were there but they packed up at 11pm. The bands could play longer, that would be nice. The bartenders at the late night lobby bar pretend to be grumpy but they are sweethearts. I think they are tying to pretend they aren't having a good time.
Now THE FOOD. i cant rave enough about the food. For those who travel to resorts can relate to the nights when you just want to get off resort and go eat at a restaurant? that is not this place. We would be out on the town and be panicked because we had to get back on resort for dinner. The food is AMAZING. If you hear any negative remarks about the food on this resort, its not the resort, its the reviewer who has personal hang-ups. Admittedly, we did not eat at the buffet for dinner, we didnt have to. each Ala-carte is fantastic and it is walk in. you dont have to make reservations. so we ate at the fantastic ala cartes more than once, and then we ate dinner for their theme nights. So, again, we never did eat the dinner buffet.
The food in the afternoon is endless and they have a BBQ that is constantly serving great dishes. That isnt even mentioning the snack bar who makes great fish tacos.
If you are looking for a trip to PV and you need a good resort, i am going to say the Fiesta Americana is THE place to be for all inclusive resorts.
great Job FA. You and your staff should be proud of the product you put out.
"Great Hotel With Great Service"
Today is our last day and we just want to share our experience here these past two weeks. The hotel and food are fantastic but we come for the Service and memories. Wolfgang and his tean did not let us down. The staff is simply amazing. You know that a hotel is good when one of the grounds keepers ( Isidro) approaches you and greets you with a smile and says" can I get you anything?" Or when management serves us because they don't want you to wait. Special thanks to Daniel, Tania, Miguel aka Brad Pitt, Alonso, Raphael and especially Wolfgang
"Second Visit to Fiesta Americana PV"
Our second visit to the hotel, for 14 days, did not disappoint. The location (so close to downtown, marina, etc.), staff, service, food, room were wonderful. This time we booked a Fiesta Club King room and it was very comfortable. We had a concierge each morning who provided a hot continental breakfast and early evening we enjoyed appetizers and a fabulous selection of liquors. If they didn't have what you wanted, the concierge went out of his way to get it. If there was something you needed in your room, you only needed to mention it and a few minutes later it was delivered (thanks Gustavo and Rafael!)
The housekeepers were thorough and left us adorable towel art everyday and were so much fun to talk to - thanks to Monica and the other houskeepers.
The restaurants are well run and the food outstanding (thanks Wolfgang, Assistant Food Manager, who seemed to be in 10 places at once!) Thank you to Marcos, Enrique, Francisco and all the servers - all top notch.
If you like shrimp, be sure to go to the Chulavista al a carte for lunch - they offer a wrap with the most amazing jumbo shrimp that pop when you crunch into them - delicioso!
The Pool Staff were wonderful - be sure to participate in the Question of the Day - you could win nice little prizes like a mug, t-shirt or small bottle of tequila (thanks Alejandra for the great laughs and giving me me a personal lesson on bracelet making!).
The servers on the beach were awesome. They made our days on the beach so relaxing. Thank you to Polo, Miguel and Luis.
The one improvement we would appreciate is a change of the music around the resort. At breakfast the music is way too loud and is not relaxing. Also, instead of something relaxing like soft Spanish music, it's rap or Hip-hop. The spa music by the pool is ok but is very repetitive. The music in the afternoon is also very loud on the beach.
Note: There are changes coming. Construction is underway behind the outdoor buffet and Italian restaurant. The completion date is November (maybe) and when done, all the restaurants will be indoors with A/C, which the servers tell me they are really looking forward to. On top of this new building will be an adult only area with an infinity pool, bar and I believe a restaurant.
Additional note: some reviewers are angry because they weren't told ahead of time that this hotel is non-smoking, even in the rooms, including the balconies. There are actually 2 designated smoking areas on the property. This is not the hotel's fault, it's the travel agent's fault. In point of fact, the Jalisco Health Secretariat passed a no smoking law for all hotels and restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, as of January 2014.
We are already considering returning in the next few months.
"EXCELLENT - RELAXING VACATION"
Great resort - can't say enough good things about this place.
FUN resort - lots of activities in and out of the pool (blackjack, games, etc) Service is top notch, room service is excellent.
Emilio at the pool will take great care of you - by the way - get the cabana, it's totally worth it!!!
"Great Family Vacation"
We traveled with our 3 year old and 1.5 year old and we had a fantastic time at Fiesta Americana. The resort is not very big, which was perfect for us because we never had to chase our boys too far! The food was delicious, the staff were all very kind. My boys loved the snack bar for hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fries and nachos when they took a break from swimming or playing on the playground. Rooms were kept very tidy and the cribs were beautifully made for our boys every night. We also traveled with friends who stayed 2 doors away and they were able to enjoy a bit more evening entertainment. They loved the cirque-du-soleil style show one night, and we all loved the Mexican night where we ate out by the pool. Service by the pool was a really wonderful ammenity, because we were able to stay with the kids and still enjoy the Cevicheria food and drinks from the bar! The asian restaurant allows children if you stay out front, and i would highly recommend, this was our favourite place to eat! Our little guys were too young for kids club, but we loved seeing the resort through their eyes the whole time, anyway! They had a wonderful holiday and i would recommend Fiesta Americana to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday with delicious food and kind staff.
