We stayed at the Fiesta Americana Villas for two weeks. The location made walking to a lot of wonderful restaurants and shopping very easy and a short cab ride to the old town square. The room we had was a very spacious one bedroom with a kitchen, living room, large bathroom, good sized bedroom, and two balconies. We were on the 19th (top) floor which had wonderful views, but, I believe that due to the location of the hotel (on top of a cliff) the views will be similar at almost any level.
There are three pool areas, one near the breakfast restaurant, one near the main lunch resaurant, and one near the beach. The one near the beach is shaded by a large banyan tree and was our favorite.
The food at each of the restaurants was quite good (the shrimp cocktails were our favorite).
The wait staff, the housekeeping staff, the front desk, and concierge staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was special. They called us by name and truly made us feel as if we were at home.
The issue of the the neighboring night clubs' noise does exist and might bother very light sleepers - we dealt with it by playing our own "music to sleep by" which worked quite well for us.
Acapulco is a beautiful place and the people are lovely and staying at the Fiesta Americana was a very enjoyable experience.
"Very nice place to stay. Staff are the best"
Great stay. Super friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Air con rooms with a great view. Hotel was spotless. Staff are what made the stay for us. Great to see mexican families all out having a good time. Would happily stay here again.
"Very seventies feeling in Acapulco"
We had the pleasure to stay one night in the Fiesta Americana hotel in Acapulco. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and spoke very well American English. When staying at this hotel you feel like you are going back in time because of it seventies architecture. Pity the rooms also haven't been upgraded since. View from our room is lovely.
The pools are nice and the deckchairs comfortable. Beach is lovely but basic.
"on a beach but not for a beach"
The hotel has a unique position on the beach which is wasted because there is practicaly no room left on the beach. All is taken by restaurant tables, sellers and rental gear such as jets. The crowd is so dense that you either have to go far away or stay in the pool area. Also, so crowded place inevitably leads to the water (and beach) pollution, so be prepared to be accompanied by some dirt at all times. Apart from this, the hotel services are just perfect. Obviously, this is not a small family run hotel, so expect some reserved attitude. And... take some earplugs, just for case.
" Acapulco is always Acapulco "
We stayed 3 days 2 nights in a suite with 2 rooms (1 king; 2 Queen ) 1 Master suite with yacuzzi, living room (pull bed) kitchen, TV, for $18,300 pesos (11 adults and 2 children) not bad price
The view from the hotel is speech less.
The swimming pools service is excellent they have enough places to stay under shade. I recommend someone of your party to wake-up earlier and go down to the swimming pool area and choose the area you want for the day and leave a towel and shirt as an example so no one takes your spot.
I don't give a five for two main ressons:
1st, when you arrive to the hotel after checking another member of the hotel will approach you and explain that they will give you a free breakfast and one night stay in any Fiesta Amricana or Hilton hotel if you can only give them 90 minutes of your time for them to explain a new concept. We schedule our meeting at 9:30am next morning. They fill out an order with your name, address, annual income, and they asked for a credit card that they would only write the bank and last 4 digits.
We spend @ 2 1/2 hrs with this gentleman. He had the breakfast with us and talked about the new concept with us. That breaks completely your get together for a family breakfast. The children obviously where tired they did not eat well.
My 2nd reason was the restaurant for breakfast buffet a dead bug (roach) under our table. Then not enough fruit, eggs, pancita, beans, on the buffet tables. The line if you want your eggs (over easy) or quesadillas will take you at least 10 minutes.
Please be aware and enjoy the good time at the beach and swimming pools.
