This hotel is in a nice part of Mexico City. I stayed on the 14th floor. The room was nice (comfortable bed, nice linens, plenty of space, nice view). The air conditioner couldn't quite cool things down as much as I would have liked, and my 3rd day, I found a live cockroach in the bedside drawer (EEK!). The hotel staff tried to fix the air conditioner but to no avail. I should've reported the cockroach, but I looked for more and couldn't find any (and I was so busy seeing the sights, I completely forgot to report it.) The breakfast buffet is a must. Tacos, fruit shakes, and omelets were all made to order. There were so many delicious options! Try the cactus fruit (called toona?) and definitely have the meat tacos and delicious danishes.
"The best hotel"
By far the best hotel I have ever visited. I recommend it, close to the centre, friendly staff, nice buffet, value for money, perfect for all type of travelers. I hope I will be able to visit again in the future.
"The best breakfast worldwide and consistently "
I've been several times in the hotel as well as in other hotels around the world and I think this one offers one of the best breakfasts that can be found. There are plenty of choices and taste and presentation are really good. Not to mention the personal attention.
The hotel is also well located only some meters away from a metro station, in the most beautiful avenue in Mexico City and pretty close to worth visiting places. Taxi service is always available.
Last but not least the price-service relation is amazing.
"Crappy and shady business practices"
Arrived early 530am and offer extra money for a room. Gerente said that no room was available. Came back at 8am and room was available but need to fork over 78 dollars more or get check in at 10 for free. 5 minutes later the Gerente changed his mind and said that checkin will be at 12 for the same cost. This guy is trying to scam money from us. He is shady and unfit to be a manager.
Checked in at 3pm. Hotel is old and needs serious update. Definitely not a four stars but may be a three stars. The AC leaks into the room. Probably why they dont run the air conditioning.
"Big building, centrally located"
Huge building. 24 or 25 floors.
There is a Starbucks on the entrance.
Reasonable service. Rooms are a little bit olds.
Good location on passeo de la reforma.
Clean, busy, reasonable.
Huge television on the room.
