This is a top-quality hotel. The entire staff "snaps to" and fills your every need, quickly and efficiently. Nearly all staff members speak excellent English. Rooms are spacious, with large bathrooms made of genuine marble. There are large open outdoor spaces, graced with fountains. The restaurant is large and elegantly appointed. Wait staff, both male and female, are all dressed in immaculate uniforms. Your every wish is instantly met. All staff members, from the lowliest busboy, up to and including the "boss", a very handsome young man named Mario Rosete, are all genuinely warm and friendly. The hotel is very well-situated, a short taxi drive from wherever you might want to go in the city. There's an underground parking garage. However, I would strongly advise against driving yourself in this city -- the traffic is INSANE, even for a New Yorker like myself. Take a taxi -- they're cheap and plentiful. My only complaint is that the restaurant meals are a bit pricey, if you're on a budget and eating anywhere else involves a taxi ride. Daily buffet breakfast for me and my wife ran about $30.00. My advice would be to "scope out" some nearby places to eat in advance. Average taxi to many locations runs only $5.00 American, often less than that. The taxis in this city don't gouge you at all. The 40-minute drive to the airport costs $18.00 American (the official airport taxi that took us TO the hotel ran a bit more -- $24.00-- dirt cheap by U.S. standards). There's a big Wal Mart only a short taxi drive away (the fare is under $3.00 U.S.). Within two blocks is a KFC and a VERY accommodating drug store, where many drugs are available without a prescription (and there's a VERY sympathetic doctor, right on site, happy to provide any scripts you might require.....) Amazingly, when my wife and I visited the doctor in order to obtain Soma and Meloxicam, he refused to take any money from us, even as a gratuity. He simply scribbled something on a pad and sent us directly to the pharmacist, where we got all we wanted of both drugs (they're pain relievers, both of which require prescriptions in the U.S.). In closing, let me say that every single member of the Hotel staff offered exceptional service and exuded a deep, genuine warmth. My wife and I left feeling like family -- we even exchanged email addresses with two staff members and we invited the food and beverage manager, Mario, to visit us in Florida and stay in our spare condo (we rent it out in the winter, but it sits empty 9 months of the year....). Oh, by the way, this hotel provides excellent free hi-speed wi-fi in all hotel rooms and public areas. And there's a large shopping mall (called the "Plaza Del Parque" located only a block away, on the other side of a VERY busy multi-lane highway). Do yourself a favor and TAKE A TAXI to the mall. It only costs $1.80 U.S.
"Nice hotel well located."
I have just stayed two nights at this hotel. Check in and out was nice without any problems as well as valet parking.
My room was the 344 nice, big clean and quiet room with a Little balcony facing the pool.
Hotel with a nice style. Wifi very good.
Room Service with good quality of food.
Nice hotel for business or leasure travel. Well located in the middle of the city only minutes to downtown and also to the new residence and corporate áreas.
Sure I will return.
"Very good for business trip"
I stayed 2 nights in this Hotel, on business trip and I enjoyed . It has good localization, very good service, very comfortable and clean room. Food also was nice. I used the Fitness room and it was clean with excellent equipment. The WiFi signal was excellent. I recommend.
"More hype than substance"
Hotel itself is good however, the service wasn't up to the mark. 1. When checking in I wasn't told anything about opening up a credit so that I could eat at the restaurant or call a taxi etc. and it would show up in my bill together. I ended up paying each and every time. 2. They tried to talk to me in Spanish again and again when they knew I couldn't. At least they should have asked if I could to begin the conversation. 3. Wait time in the restaurant was too long; when it came to payment, the waiter took my credit card all the way to the front desk without even asking me for my permission My view is that the hotel is very good if someone is travelling within Mexico but for International traveler like myself I will go to an International chain where they may be able to better understand my situation.
"Lost Reservation and 2 Different Rooms with No Hot Water"
Beautiful hotel lobby, fun bar area, great restaurant, nice staff. However, they were never able to locate my reservation -- even after I found the reservation confirmation number. Oh well, they just gave me a room at a slightly higher rate. Okay.
I'd been traveling for 16 hours by the time I was able to relax and take a shower. NO HOT WATER. I was too tired to be moved to another room or deal with the front desk so I took a cold shower. The next day when they heard I had no hot water they moved me to an upgraded room. It was a hassle to repack, etc but for a hot shower I was happy enough to do it.
Later that night I had a cocktail and tried to charge it to my room. Everything was thrown into confusion. This room is not booked to your name, it is booked to a man named Antonio. The bar tender took me to reception. Reception did not know what to do. He asked for MY RESERVATION NUMBER. I stated that this reservation number would not do anyone good as they had been unable to locate it when I checked in.
Fortunately, the person who had moved me to the new room that day had given me her card. I handed over her card and told them to contact her and ask her why I was in "Antonio's" room. This information was taken to a manager and I was told everything was fine. Great. But when I get to my room THERE IS NO HOT WATER.
I took another cold shower and went to bed. I had important meetings the next day and could not spare the time to deal with the front desk.
I don't know what the disconnects were. The business colleague I was travelling with had no problems with reservation or hot water.
