"So worth it"
What an incredibly beautiful hotel. Not to mention outstanding hospitality, great food and beautiful view. Stayed here 11/5/17-11/12/17
Checking in is a breeze. You don’t get swarmed by timeshare sales people. We did have one person follow us to the elevator after checking in, asking our room number. I’m pretty sure he was selling excursions. I learned a long time ago at another resort down the road called red flower (sic) that I gave the person that looked like a hotel staff, our room number and I would get calls every morning and evening. I unplugged the phone. This hotel is not like that. No calls all week.
We had a room on the 9th floor and the host named Rafael took great care of us, bringing us Ice, sodas and whatever was lacking in the minibar. I'm not sure he ever went home because he was our waiter at the breakfast bar in the mornings as well.
The room and hotel was immaculate. The outside temperature was in the mid 80's but the air conditioner kept the room very cool. We have stayed at many other hotels in PVR and the AC didn't work so well. The room was as modern as any luxury hotel that you would find in the US.
The pool area and beach area had plenty of lounge chairs. The Cabanas were very reasonable compared to some of the Vegas resorts. There was wifi everywhere which I rarely used but nice to know it was available. The swim up bar had bartenders like Rogelio who is so fast, the occasional bar jambs disappear in minutes. They all speak english and can pretty much make any vacation drink you want. Beer and various alcoholic staples are available here as well. We tried a little of everything and experienced no issues that have been reported in other Mexican resort towns. The pool area has a true resort feel to it. There's no all day DJ, bikini stuffing contests or spring break antics to worry about here. There is continuous music playing in the area but it's truly low key and changes tempo throughout the day. It has a very romantic feel for couples but also very family oriented.
A new spa/private pool area opened above the buffet restaurant that they were letting people in for free for few days to try it out while we were there. I think access is included for the 8th and 9th floor rooms and low charge for anyone else. The cabanas there are what you would expect at Ceasars or the Venetian in Vegas. There are lounge chairs, TV's, ceiling fans, etc. There are two pools and two hot tubs. Definitely worth checking out. Double check on accessibility. It’s not that big of an area and will probably fill up quick in the morning once the word gets out.
The food is probably the best we've tasted in any PVR resort hotel. The Hostess named Coral will help you find a table pretty much wherever you want. Marvin, Victor and Rafael are some of the hardest working waiters that we had the pleasure of meeting during the week we were there. They really go out of their way to make sure you have bottomless drinks and can point you to your favorite food. You will see all four working at different restaurants at the resort and they will remember you. Not to bash Vegas (we are from there), but you have to be a high roller to get that kind of hospitality.
On Friday afternoon, the hotel staff comes out and dances for you around the pool. It’s their way of showing you how much they appreciate you as a customer. Friday night is the Mexican Fiesta night. They put on a very good production with excellent music, singers and traditional costumes. There were plenty of tables for everyone and again the food was excellent.
This is the first review that we've ever written so hopefully you will find it useful.
My wife and I just returned from a week at the Fiesta Americana, and we agree it was the BEST All Inclusive we've stayed at. Everyone on the staff spared no effort to ensure our visit was wonderful from start to finish.
The Hotel offers excellent dining, from the Buffet, which changed several dishes every day, with Special thanks to Erik, as well as Luis Aguilar. The Mexican Restaurant, where we were treated to excellent food prepared by Chef Cesar, and Flaming Irish Coffee by the Amazing Armando. Rosato, the Italian Restaurant excels in every aspect of service and food. The Asian Restaurant, Tian Ting? served everything with flair, and if you're a Pad Thai fan, be sure to order some. Also, while there, we recommend you ask Irving for the fiery ice cream.
Our room 505, was great, the main pool as well as the Adults Only Roof top Infinity Pool were excellent. Everything and everyone at the Hotel worked endlessly to ensure we were satisfied, and they succeeded.
We are looking forward to going back next year and hear the greeting from the concierge..."Welcome Home"
"All as promised. No disappointments."
The complex is second to none and that also goes for the wonderful staff. When the only complaint the 4 of us could come up with is there are no ice machines on any floor ( brought on request by room service) it's a given that we will return soon. Normally we take names for exceptional service and give a shout-out , but in all honesty we would bore you to tears because it would have to include every person employed by the resort. The food was great, the variety was more that anyone could fit into a one week vacation and there were no disappointments.
"For Foodies only"
If food and drink is your priority this is the place The Asian Mexican and Italian restaurants are probably the best I have had in an all inclusive resort .The buffet is very average with a smaller selection than other similar resorts
(you have to line up for bacon in the morning)
The bar has all the standard local brands and for an extra price you can upscale
So why only 3 star you ask ?
The rooms are large ,clean but the beds are small and the A/C is very marginal only getting to a reasonable temperature after 12 hrs with the curtains drawn
The big thing there is NOTHING to do No sports No entertainment (unless you like painting pots or bingo . The beach is nice but not so the water . The pool is large
but only little over 3 ft deep and Euro electric music plays all the time. You pay extra for
cabanas and there is another pool hot tub avail for extra cost
If you need something see Estoban at the Expedia counter who will listen and give you good value for an off site tour.
For coffee go to Starbucks in the lobby although not advised by hotel they give regular coffee and pastries no charge
"Absolutely amazing staff, but entertainment is really lacking"
The only problem with this resort is the entertainment. There is hardly anything to do. The place is dead by 7pm. We even got kicked out of the pool at 8:30pm.
Children of 4yrs old are expected to be left with the staff(a stranger). You can’t stay with them for the children’s activities. They don’t let parents stay, so our kids couldn’t join in any of the children’s activities.
The food was amazing. Out of our group of 11, not one of us got sick. We couldn’t fault the food.
We had 11 people in our group. If I wasn’t going with other people I would go to a different resort. You have to make your own entertainment.
In a resort you expect way more entertainment or you would just stay for less money in a hotel.
I would 100% stay here again, if I was with a group. Without a group you would get bored pretty quick. There is nothing going on. A fish market and Mexican night 2 times in the 11 days we where there.
They had a couple of bands in bar. That was all over by time we came back from supper.
The staff go above and beyond to help you. We never met one staff member that didn’t go out of their way to help.
People including my family will keep coming back, because of the amazing staff they have. They make you feel so welcome.
Without these amazing members of staff this hotel would lose costumers. There isn’t enough to attract you otherwise.
