"Overall great 7 night stay"
Unfortunately we had a very negative first experience when we arrived at the hotel. We arrived early morning and knew we wouldn't have access to our room until the official check in time but assumed we could relax around the resort until then. We were informed by the very rude check-in agent that our only options were to pay for an early check in or sit on the sofas by the check in desk until 3pm (7 hours!!!). If we wanted to look around the resort we would need an escort but were not allowed to eat or drink until after 3pm. We were exhausted after our overnight flight and not prepared to argue so reluctantly paid the early check-in fee.
Aside from that we enjoyed the rest of our stay. Our room (first floor) was perfect, we never had any issues, the housekeeping staff are excellent. The chairs by the pool are reserved very early and usually unoccupied for hours but we never had an issue finding space. The quality of the food was excellent overall; our highlights were the ceviche restaurant (lunch), the 2pm grill station by the pool and the Italian restaurant (dinner). The food in the Mexican and Asian restaurants was good but the service was painfully slow. The resort was very clean and aside from our issues checking in we had no complaints. They clearly cater to a slightly older clientele which is what we expected before we arrived so was not an issue.
We stayed March 9-15. This was our second time to Puerto Vallarta and first to Fiesta Americana. We had actually stayed at the Grand Fiesta last year but didn't like that it was so far away from everything, but liked most things about it otherwise, so made the choice for the Fiesta. What a great choice we made. We had unfortunately got hit by the Time Share Squad last year and to be honest, it kind of ruined our trip. This year I don't know how we lucked out, but never talked to anyone; that being said, we did not ever "get a tour" to know what was all available, even though I doubt that we missed a lot that we would have taken part in. I wouldn't have paid extra to sit in an adult only pool anyway, but it would have been nice to have been able to sit out on the veranda especially at night to see the beautiful ocean sunsets, but was able to walk around it and see it.
We cannot say enough about the staff! I wish I was better about names, because there are so many that I don't remember, but there was never a time that we passed by anyone without a smile and an "hola". Miguel, aka Brad Pitt, Hector, Carlos to name a few at the restaurants and pool were so much fun and you knew they wanted everyone to have a good time. Elena in housekeeping did a remarkable job keeping our room spotless and was always there behind the scenes to make sure we had what we needed. Bernice, and I am not sure what her position was, stopped and chatted a couple times and always knew us by name. We were having toilet problems and had told her, the next thing we knew, there was maintenance and fixed it!
I don't know if Estaban is actually an employee or not, but he helped us with excursions and did a great job too! I feel bad as like I said earlier I am not always good with names and then there are so many who probably don't have their names mentioned as they are not out in the front lines, but this staff is absolutely over the top!
I highly recommend this resort and hopefully we will return to PV again soon and don't see any reason to stay at another hotel!
"All inclusive & spa"
I was very impressed with this all inclusive trip with west jet vacations. It was direct flight from Saskatoon to Puerto Vallarta. The hotel accommodations were great the rooms were clean and spacious there was a mini fridge stocked with water beer and pop if you ran out just call room service to get it replenished. The food was great there was a buffet , an Italian restaurant an Asian and Mexican restaurant. The pool was nice it had a swim up bar there were2 outdoor eating areas. The service by the pool was unbeatable .They were always around if you needed another drink or water even if you wanted a snack and did not want to move they would bring it for you. They had a daycare for children ages 8 to 12 crafts and other entertainment. The staff were very friendly and courteous.I definitely would go back again. This was right on the beach and the rooms all have great views of the pool and ocean.A must to see.
"A very pleaseant place to stay."
I enjoyed the Fiesta Americana and will try to return again. The food was excellent and the service was very good. We are from the Midwest and were really surprised that the beef was so delicious! The meals prepared by the pool each day were great! There was a nice variety and when the grilling commenced, that aromas were irresistible!
The servers bringing drinks around the pool kept us well watered! Especially Sergio, Hugo,Enrique......there are more but, the names are gone! All of the bartenders a waiters were attentive. There was a few times when the bar was really busy but, that usually didn't last too long. You always had the option to walk to another bar or catch a server.
I enjoyed the mix of guests; Americans, Canadians, Europeans, families, elderly and a few spring breakers, just to keep it hopping!
The hotel faces the water and there can hardly be a bad view from any room. Our housekeeper Mairsol was another positive person on the staff.
My husband and enjoyed a couples massage at the spa.It was fabulous!
The only less than positive was a short pressured sales pitch on the first day, when all of us wanted to get out of our travel clothes and into the pool with a drink. Gratefully, after we said no a couple times to signing up for a meeting, we were directed to our rooms and we were floating in the pool a few minutes later!
"Another Wonderful Vacation at Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta"
This was my 7th stay at this hotel (third as all-inclusive), and still the best! The location is great, close to town, near shopping and bus service, and right on the beach with wonderful ocean and downtown city views. The staff work all day to keep everything neat and clean
I really appreciated personal check in service from Mariana (concierge) after talking with her by telephone about a month before my arrival. She often checked in with me (at a palapa) throughout my stay to learn if everything was going well.
The ChulaVista restaurant is totally new from 2017. It is spacious, with many large windows toward the pool and beach. It is brightly lighted with a second grill area. I have to admit I miss the ambiance of the old Chula Vista.... But progress is progress, and am sure the improvements are better for staff.
On top of ChulaVista is a new adult pool with hot tubs for an extra daily charge.
The morning breakfast buffets at ChulaVista are excellent, and appreaciate prompt and always friendly service from Gume, Rosalio, Armando, Jesus, Marcus, Geraldo, Alejandro, and the rest of the waiters. The omelet chefs prepare many, many orders at once with a smile, not an easy job!
Most of my days are enjoyed on the beach under the shady palapas. The servers are rotated every several days from the beach to the pool areas. always provide superb service, even when challenged by large demanding groups of guests. I'm greeted by other beach and pool servers with warm friendly hellos: Ignacio (Nacho), Jorge, Hugo, and Miguel. Raphael wasn't a server in my palapa area this year, but always ready for a hug or greeting. Jessica always had a friendly wave too. Artemio is always ready with warm clean towels.
The fish tacos at the Cervicheria are still the best, and always a friendly smile from Sergio.
The Italian restaurant, Rosato, was my favorite, with great filet mignon and duck. I was lucky to be served by many great waiters: Josua, Francisco, Ignacio, and Alexandro.
After dinner, the staff (Faviola and Rosa) in the Lobby Bar took time to prepare yummy Spanish coffee drinks.
My room was always kept spotless by housekeeper Lucila.
I hope to return again soon!
