Summary of qualifications
"A great time was had by all"
Took a trip for X-mas and the place was great we had no problems.. The food was excellent most of the time and got a bit repetitive at times. If you go get an ocean view room otherwise all you'll see is tops of palm trees. Beach is nice but way too many vendors and the hotel needs to control them as they just cross the small barrier and bother you all day. They need more beach activities and toys for the teenagers as I don't recall them having anything.
"Amazing Resort, Little Money"
This was our first trip to PV and this resort blew us away from the second we walked in. We got this resort as a package deal for a small amount of money so we were skeptical about "getting what we paid for" and being let down. We shouldn't have worried at all. The resort is well maintained, clean from rooms to lobbies, and great staff. Pool and beach areas were very large and beautiful. The beach was sandy and not rocky as some reviews seem to indicate. The pool bar is always serving during the day and the bartenders, especially Rogelio who went out of his way to make us some awesome drinks, are on top of their game. It's a family resort, so expect kids splashing you around the pool, but the pool has a kids area so this helps keep the annoyances to a minimum.
Probably the most off putting thing were the local salesman on the beach. The resort has a private roped off area for guests only that they can't enter, but once you cross the rope you're on public beach and they will hound you over and over to buy things from bracelets to blankets to weed. I'm sure the resort can't do anything about this, but just be prepared for the sales pitches.
We stayed on the 9th floor which has its own breakfast and pre-dinner snack service in the lobby along with top shelf alcohol before dinner. You have to scan your room key in the elevator to access this floor so it is truly exclusive and gets you away from the crowd. We would highly recommend this area if traveling without kids. Rafael was our favorite guy the entire trip and headed up the breakfast on the 9th floor each morning. He was a great example of the staff's helpfulness and friendliness.
If there was one thing we were a little disappointed in it was the dinner time food. The 3 restaurants that are open for dinner (Mexican, Italian, and Asian) have decent food (Italian was our favorite), but it didn't blow us away. We were there for 4 nights and I think if we were there any longer we would have switched to room service. The other restaurants were only open during the day. Their website seems to indicate other restaurants we couldn't find and they weren't listed as being open on our daily itinerary. They also did not provide us with a resort map, so finding the restaurants took some looking around. We were there during their off season so this could explain the lack of options for dinner but we were disappointed.
All things considered, we had an absolute blast. Don't have any reservations about this resort if you think the price might be low. You'll have a great time and the view alone makes it worth it. It's not a 5 star resort by definition, but for what we paid and what we got it gets 5 stars in our book. We will be back!
"Amazing week long stay"
We just returned last night and I already want to go back! The service from beginning to end was impeccable! Our room was on the third floor and we had a beautiful view of the pool and bay. Our housekeeper Elena looked after our every need and our bar fridge was stocked every day! The beds are super comfortable, the a/c was nice and cold and everything was so clean! The breakfast buffet was delicious and the table service was quick and cheerful. Our favourite waiter was Edgar, he usually works the buffet in the morning and the Asian restaurant at night! He always had a smile and remembered us and what we liked ! We had great food at all the restaurants but the food in the Mexican was our favourite! The pool and bar service was hands down the best ! Never had to wait long for a drink or a snack and since we were 8 days it's hard to say which server was the best, they all rocked ! The entertainment people were fantastic and ran great activities during the day but we mostly just lounged by the pool or beach when we weren't on a tour! The shrimp tacos (un-breaded) were to die for and the hamburgers from the grill were some of the best we have ever had! The guacamole was delicious on everything ! All you have to do is ask and they will do everything they can to get you exactly what you want ! We finished everyday in the lobby bar and had fantastic service from Rosa and Carolina and the bartender Manuel, always had a huge smile even though I don't think he had a single day off in the 8 days we were there. Drinks were strong and plentiful! Loved that there was no Saving beach or pool loungers staff would go around and remove towels if No one came by. Loved not having to make dinner reservations or being limited to the al la carte ! Beach towels were big and plentiful! On our last day we didn't fly out until 7:30 and they let us keep our room until check out ! It was perfect.
Every time I asked for something they would cheerfully say "of course...why not" I felt like every wish was my command !! Hard to Come home to reality after being so well taken care of by so many wonderful staff !
"Three Times a Charm: Another Awesome Vacation at the Fiesta Americana"
This is our third visit to Fiesta Americana, since June 2015, and the experience continues to be awe-inspiring. First and foremost is the service, it is the absolute best. Whether you are enjoying the beach, the pool, or the restaurants, you cannot find more personal and professional service. On the beach, Luis Piza's warm greetings, and expert service continue to be one of the high point of our trips. He knows what we like: fish tacos (the best) and for me: Dirty Monkeys with fresh bananas and Baileys. At the pool, "Brad Pitt" provided us personal service at our cabana bed. Hector, the restaurant captain, arranged for the chef to prepare an unforgettable dinner for us: grilled dorado (we provided the fish caught on a fishing charter that day) with three freshly made sauces (cream caper, red peppers, and garlic sauces), fresh vegetables and rice; all served on a wooden platter, and presented by the chef. Excellent!!
This time we enjoyed our stay at the Fiesta Americana along with our friends and their granddaughters, and I learned that this resort is a wonderful place for kids as well as adults. There are many activities for kids, like ceramic painting and cooking classes, that I was not aware of on my last two visits. Everyone had a great time!
When will we return??? Hopefully real soon:)
My daughter, boyfriend and I stayed at the Fiesta Americana and had a fabulous time! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Sergio, Jesus, Gerardo, Armando and Miguel. The food was delicious, especially at the Italian restaurant. The shrimp tacos at the Cevicheria were so good,we ate them for lunch almost everyday. The beach was clean and the water warm. Great place for a family vacation.
