Hotel is very nice but they have serious set of problems with basic human rights. Fiesta senior Management don't protect guests from any unpleasantries caused by their employees. This is not hotel where one could feel safe.
I asked different pool employees four times to call for security after I was insulted for being "Gringa" by non paying hotel guest at the pool. That person told me to get out of the pool and out of Mexico given I wasn't Mexican. She also mentioned she has "more rights" to be at the pool then I do. I was more then puzzled.
Then I remembered, on Sundays, when unsupervised, same employees sneak into hotel pool their fiends, neighbours or family. When that person turned to be almost physical, I tried to get Fiesta security. I was told by only male employee at the pool reception "there is no security around on Sundays". It was all organized to protect non paying employee's friends.
When reported all the above to Managing Director, Mari Paz Martinez she gave me a lip talk. I was not under impression she cared at all. And indeed since, I was banned from the pool. Fiesta wouldn't extend my monthly membership after I was insulted by non paying guest. That's about Fiesta's "customer service". When asked Mrs. Martinez for explanation she gave me another lip talk about hotel resuming Spa membership for all existing, paying guests while my guest from PDC and others were inside, at the pool on their daily and monthly passes totally puzzled as well.
I kept all written correspondence with Managing Director Martinez after I noticed she has no intention to resolve something as serious as this and she is flip-flopping on many hotel's issues. Smaller boutique hotels with more serious management, well trained in customer service would be all ways better options for stay in Merida then Fiesta.
Excellent hotel. Well appointed, friendly and clean. Extraordinary service. I am a constant visitor to Mérida and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is superb and the building is a mixture of the old bankers' club and the new Fiesta Americana hotel. Mary Paz Martínez, the Director, is on the ball at all times.
"One of the best hotel"
Indeed it was difficult to find a perfect hotel in our Mexico/Central America round trip - noise, standard, food, etc. But we felt so satisfied with this wonderful hotel. Choose the club rooms with pool view - quiet and excellent breakfast/afternoon coffee/light dinner included.
I like to try different hotels each time i visit Merida . This was my first stay at the Fiesta Americana.. The rooms have recently been renovated and a good size , all with exterior views, the service , staff, were the best of all the four hotels i stayed at in my visit to Merida.
Nothing to complain about here , i booked a trip to Uxmal from the hotel it was awesome , more on that later !
Fiesta Americana is located @ Paseo Montejo, the most significant boulevard in Mérida, and one of the most beautiful of the entire country. This hotel has all the conditions for a perfect stay, either business or pleasure. The lobby is above a small mall, which is very convenient for any type of emergency. The location allows you to be very close for main tourist spots in the city. Service here is something outstanding. Rooms are spacious with anything you need for a nice stay. This hotel is value for your money.
The majestic Fiesta Americana Mérida rises up at the intersection of Mérida's two most important avenues: Colon and Paseo Montejo, with Porfirian-style architecture that retains an exquisite elegance, together with modernity and technology; elements that ensure a pleasurable stay.An icon of the White City, a meeting point of Merida's society and an attractive destination for vacation and business travelers alike, without a doubt one of the best hotels in Merida, Mexico.
By day or night, the hotel is breathtaking and entering, delights the eye with its elegant lobby decorated with mosaics, a central fountain and armchairs all around inviting to enjoy the elegant atmosphere. The Fiesta Americana Mérida has an adjacent shopping mall, a business center and the South East Industries Club (Club de Industriales del Sureste) which operates through membership.
Its convenient location allows you to reach the airport in 25 minutes and seven minutes from downtown, where you can learn the colonial heritage of the city, listen the Yucatecan trova notes and sample the typical dishes.
