Fiesta Americana Hacienda San Antonio El Puente Cuernavaca
Location #1 of 3 hotels in Xochitepec
Summary of qualifications
"Amazingly beautiful spot spoiled by poor management"
Quite a disappointment!
The hacienda itself is incredibly beautiful, with lush gardens, ruins of old buildings all covered by vegetation, amazing pool setting under the old arcs, church & chapel inside the property.
But! It should be taken from Fiesta Americana and given to smbd who knows how to do the job... they managed to transform the place which meant to be an excusite experience into badly organised package tour-style hotel.
Too many rooms for the space and the staff which fails to serve them well; overcrowded pool, no separation for families with kids and adult zones - djacuzzi meant to be for relaxation became the playground for 20 kids; 20-min queues at the breakfast; poor food, hygiene & organzation at resto - the omlet station staff serves adds ingredients with bare hands, opens the trash bin and continues without washing; waiters take the piles of dirty dishes thru the whole room, balancing trays over peoples heads to get to the dishwashing room; maintanence staff walking thru the pool, gardens with trash bins and equipment; no sound protection in the rooms (remember church inside - bells start at 7.30am; cars parked 10m from the rooms and staff starts moving them at 8am, leaving the engine on for 10 min; you can hear the TV playing in the next room up to each word said)
Conclusion: get in to see the place but never stay overnight!!! If you would like to see beautiful hacienda and have nice weekend, go to Hacienda de Cortes
"Excellent breakfast buffet "
Visited the restaurant for a family breakfast. Excellent Mexican traditional food selection, juices and drinks and staff service. The Hacienda is breathtaking with lots of green areas and space for the kids to place. The chapel and Chacuaco tunnel are good for some quiet time.
Great hotel surrounded by historical buildings. New architecture compliments old ruins. My room was large with high ceilings and great view to gardens. Its set in an old Hacienda with lush gardens. The service was great and the staff friendly and very accommodating. I found the restaurant had great typical food . The setting was quite romantic. Would recommend for business events, weddings and family retreats.
"Jewel in the Valley"
Flew into Mexico City and arranged transportation to the hotel. 1.5 hours later we were turning off the toll road and headed down through a rundown area of town. I have to say I was a little nervous about what we were to expect. I was floored as we entered the property (old sugar mill) to a fountain and green grass. Property was expertly maintained and service was as good as any 4 star resort. When we got to our room the temperature was already set to 20C perfect for sleeping. Everything was very clean and orderly. This property is perfect for a destination wedding. Eating area was expertly staffed and each morning the buffet had something for everyone. Walking from the property to town I felt safe an even bought items from the locals. English is not spoken a lot here but even a gringo like me was able to purchase local items. We actually left the property each day to get snacks from a local store.
This hotel was AMAZING. The photos on the website do no do it justice. Beyond the beauty of the space, the food was delicious, the rooms were beyond comfortable and clean and the staff continually went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our group felt at home. I cannot wait to return.
