Centrally located hotel with classic look with good decor, rooms are big and facilities are good. The breakfast is enormous with huge spread of international and mexican food. Two days to stay was really enjoyable, would recommend.
"Building is being remodeled so dust, mold and noise are an issue"
Hope it gets better after construction is done. They are going pretty slow and I could hear hammering and drilling noises in the middle of the night. I do not think I want to stay there even after remodeling.
"beautiful rooms that don't work"
I spent two nights for a conference at this hotel. The Hotel is just finishing renovations of the rooms and the décor is very nice. Modern colors, good beds and amenities. The challenges are that the systems are not working properly. The bellman assisted me with my luggage to the room; inside the room he was explaining how everything worked. As we stood there, suddenly everything turned off in the room and we were plunged into darkness. He said that there have been problems with the motion sensors not working properly. I waited outside the room while he went to get the key for another room. Two doors down all started well; the lights stayed on. I left the room for a few minutes and upon my return the lights went off again. I called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy; he got his ladder and disconnected something in the ceiling and said that that should solve the problem with the motion sensor. Ok, I noticed that the A/C hadn't made much difference in the temperature of the room and asked him to check. He said that it was blowing air but that it was not cooling. He said that he would check some things and see how it went. After waiting until nearly 10PM I called the front desk and asked about the A/C. They said that other people were having problems with the cooling as well. I was not that interested in other people's problems. I physically went to the front desk and advised them that I did not want to stay in a hot room, and ask where were they going to move me. The girl at the front said that the maint guy was waiting at my room. I went back to my room - there was no one there waiting. I called the front desk again and asked what they were going to do, she said that she would get back to me. I went to bed, because I knew that they were not going to do anything.
"Fine, but tired and a little worn."
We spent the weekend at the Fiesta American. the hotel was fine, but frankly showing it's age and little worn. The whole place could use a coat of paint. Service was adequate, but underwhelming. Not a bad hotel, but nothing to draw me back.
"Fiesta Americana Guadalajara"
Nice hotel in the center of everything. The area was safe and close to nice restaurants within walking distance. Bedding was very comfortable and the rooms were very quiet. Coffee in the room was not free.
Fiesta Americana Guadalajara is ideal for relaxation or for enjoying the various recreational activities. Its location, in downtown Guadalajara, offers various experiences: from the traditional flavor of Zapopan and Tlaquepaque, to museums, excellent restaurants and one of the country's most beautiful historical centers.
