All the rooms do not have a pool! That feature may be on the other Fiesta Americana property located behind this one. The staff is great here. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. The food leaves a lot to be desired except for the fish shack across the street and the Mexican restaurant. The Italian restaurant was absolutely terrible. The food was either extremely overcooked or undercooked. Everything tasted as if sugar was the main ingredient in the meals. The Asian restaurant was not much better; sugar was not lacking in any dish served.
The cevicheria across the street is excellent. Everything on the menu was really good. I recommend the deep fried fish fillets. The fish tacos are pretty good too. The Mexican restaurant has several entrees that are really good as well. Both establishments are worth checking out. The sushi restaurant has several good offerings as well.
For an all-inclusive resort there is a lot lacking in this place. Management needs to dedicate more time and effort in the restaurant division of the property. For an all-inclusive the ripoff is the food aspect of this place.
As far as the renovation of the place. Fiesta Americana invested the bare bones minimum in the upgrade. Not a very good job in this area. Again, very poor management practices are to blame here.
The best aspect at this property are the service staff. They are great! From the house maids to the restaurant staff - all are friendly and a joy to converse with.
The hotel is nice and is really cool that every room has a swimming pool. The food in the restaurants is very good.
The downside is that they are way too strict and not very friendly as far as having visitors. It shows that they definitely lack trust. We were a big group with a couple of friends that stayed somewhere else and there was no way these friends could spend time with us. They were approached by the staff asking for their bands in a not very friendly way like if they were criminals every time they tried to get outside the lobby. The only option they had if they wanted to spend some time with us was to pay a ridiculously amount of money only to get in and then their meals and drinks pretty expensive too. It was kind of sad that we all had to hang out in the lobby in order to see and visit our friends.
We understand that they are suspicious because probably people have tried to sneak in and share meals and take advantage of the all inclusive but this hotel have to come up with another solution to make access to visitors a bit easier.
We have stayed in other all inclusive resorts and never had this problem. We are not going to go back there again because of this. We have several friends in the island that own their own place and is not fair we can't spend time with them because such strict policy.
We know that we had a choice that was to loose the all inclusive meals and drinks and go somewhere else to be able to spend time with them or them spending ridiculous amount of money to come to the resort to spend time with us. This doesn't feel right neither is fair.
"fiesta americana never disappoints!"
just spent 10 days with friends at the Americana-couldn't have been better: location/food/amenities/excellent personal service/far away from the cruise ship crowds/most convenient pick up and drop off for diving / we have been 2 times before and are going back in march! can't wait!
"Great "small" resort in Cozumel"
We are spending one week here in Fiesta Americana with our little daughter, and have nothing to complain about. Very clean and spacious rooms, nicely designed, very good hard beds, nice linen, very attentive staff, food and drinks excellent - we know some european 4-to-5-star all-inclusive places far more expensive in greece, and have to say that most of the americans complaining about the food here might not know what poor standard exactly means. The resort is supposed to be the smallest on the island which we love as it is not a party place. There is nice snorkeling at the hotel, good pools, good drinks, a ceviche bar right at the beach, and good restaurants. Even though its still rainy season there are almost no mosquitos as they smoke every day at sunset. We actually don't like air cons but the aircon in the rooms really work well. We are having a very relaxing holiday and will definitely come back.
"ONE OF THE BEST"

If you want quality, and nothing more than to relax then this hotel is for you, however if you are looking for a lively resort close to everything with good entertainment this hotel is probably not right for but you will be missing out on a wonderful experience.
