I just got back from Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun. When we got there to check in the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Carlos right away got us beers, water for my kids. Carlos would come back with refills without asking. Juan Pablo explained where we had to go the next morning, wen mentioned we were celebrating my son's birthday and they sent a bottle of champaign, chocolates to the room and baloons. The hotel is going through renovation. The hotel is about 25 years old. So it is a little bit outdated but we did not mind at all because the staff was extremely helpful, friendly and so welcoming. What made our stay even better was the food. It was the best we had had at all inclusive resorts. This was our third year in a row going back to Cancun we have gone to different all inclusive resorts but Fiesta American stands out from the rest. Diego was so accommodating and patient with us. Estevan one of the waiters was very welcoming at one of the restaurants I think it was the Argentinian restaurant. I would definitely would go back to this resort because the food was amazing. The shows could be a little better but I am not complaining at all.
This is definitely a great place to go to. I travel alot and this is by far the best food I ever had. Everytine I went to one restaurant and I thought I had the best food ever,i would go to another one and it would be even better. As if that's not enough the service was amazing. They waited on you hand and foot, treated everyone like they were VIP. Based in these two things alone I would defiantly return again. The resort is beautiful as you can see in the pictures and the greatest part about booking with fiesta is that there all inclusive. worth every single penny. Men, just make sure you take at least $100 in singles for tipping, it makes all the difference in the world. I loved this bacon so much that I already booked my next one in Cancun again only this time I'll be staying at the aqua. Who knows maybe I'll even buy there all inclusive time share(for the right price) I hope this review helps families. Trust me you'll love it.
"10 days at FAC..The Good and Bad (thorough review)"
We arrived on August 9th for a 10 day stay.Check in was smooth and our room was ready but had to sit with the concierge trying to get you to go to the promotional breakfast for the timeshare sales pitch..no thanks..moving on.Proceeded to our room. Rooms were clean and of average size. Bathrooms are extremely small, with no exhaust fan for steam, which makes it very hard to get dressed in. Also the tubs have about a 2 foot edge to step over. So someone young or elderly may have a very hard time. The balcony was good size with 2 chairs and a good size table. We were told by bookit that we had a balcony, but had to define the type of balcony at check in. We would have had a large window that was not really a balcony. If you are expecting a balcony, please ask at check-in. The outside wall of the balcony seemed low by US construction regulations, and the sliding glass door does not lock. I would be very cautious if you have small children.
The rest of the review i will list by pros and cons.
Friendly staff-This is really the only shining example of this resort is the fact that the resort staff is extremely friendly.Shoutout to the following people.Valentin in El Mexicano,Lucy and Jose in La Chevechiria,Francisco and Reyes in the buffet,Jasmin in the lobby bar and Claudio as our waiter by the pool.
Good A/C in rooms
Kalmia was the buffet with different theme night,Mexican,Italian,Tex mex and Asian.Typical buffet with lots to choose from.Service was Excellent and air conditioned
El Mexicano-Good traditional mexican -No A/C which makes for a very uncomfortable eating experience.
Kambu-Resturant by the pool.Has buffet breakfast which is pretty much ruined by the fact the birds are eating off the seving spoons and picking thru the breads and danishes.Lunch in the afternoon and asian on certain nights.
Chevechiria- This was my favorite.Located next to the pool bar. Excellent fish tacos, calamari and cheviches.Excellent service. You could be in and out in 20 minute.Very good.
San Telmo-Steak house that requires a one day ahead reservation. basic cuts of meat with a overpriced upsell on the better cuts.$1000 pesos($52 usd) for a prime rib and $900 pesos($47 usd) for a Lobster(with out claws)Sorry but i don"t pay that much for the best steakhouses in NY.
Rosato- italian that requires long pants for men and dresses for the ladys-Average food with the upsell again to the better menu selection.
Pizzeria Trattoria - located by the upper infinity pool. Decent fresh baked pizzas.. Kids loved it
The Grill-Located next to pool.Hamburgers, hotdogs and nachos.
Hotel is undergoing a major renovation.Don't blame the resort for this one as we know it has to be done from time to time.I do blame Bookit.com for not informing us of this.Noise wasn't bad by the lower pool bar but was quite loud by the upper infinity pool. The ocean tower is being done now and the construction is moving to the other 2 buildings after. So buyer beware. This resort will be under construction for at least another year.
Lack of A/C-Lobby bar is open air with no ac and no breeze. Other than going back to your room there is no were to get out of the sun or heat if you want to relax with a drink.Hot even at night.
USD- so for some of us that don"t live on credit cards there is no USD taken in this hotel. Not at the Gift shop or Spa.In 15 years of traveling Mexico i never had a problem with this.Would be ok if they had a money exchange in the resort. They don't. MGT tried to tell me this was state wide yet i had no problem using USD in Isla Mujeres or in downtown Cancun.I guess this resort doesn"t like making money.
Fire Alarms- So nothing ruins a good nights sleep like the fire alarms going off anywere between 1am and 5am. Happened 4 night in the Sun Tower. Talked to the manager after the second night and he claimed ignorance even though he had people on the floor telling people it was ok and to go back to there rooms. If the hotel manager doesn't know whats going on in the middle of the night in his resort than maybe it's time for a new manager.Scary when your traveling with small children and have to get them out of bed thinking the buildings on fire. One of these days there will be a fire and everyone will think its another false alarm then it will get ugly.
Housekeeping-So you have a room for 4 and every day you get 3 towels and 2 washcloths.Had to call every day to get more.Other than that the cleaning service was good.
Pools-2 pools. Lower pool with pool bar.Pool often cloudy and dirty looking. Daughter developed ear infection from bacteria in pool.
Infinity pool was a lot nicer and cleaner only drawback was construction and waiter service stops at 5 even though pool is open till 8. No bar at upper pool.
Music-Both pools have blaring music all day-same loop everyday. Most resorts have a pool for music and one without. Not here. Also no variety on music,no country,no rock. I also question some of the content. Nothing like being by the pool with your family listening to Drake sing about threesomes and oral sex.
Rain- Had one day of torrential rain. This resort has no plan for rain days other than sit in the overheated lobby, get wasted and play board games. Water coming thru the roofs in numerous spots with buckets trying to catch it.
The best evening entertainment was the Michael Jackson show. The performer was spot on with his MJ looks and dance moves. Other than that, the other evening shows were down right boring!
The resort entertainment staff were pretty low energy. We've stayed at other resorts that were able to get guests involved and entertained. Most days the Zumba and Water Aerobics were cancelled because of low participation.
In general this resort is a good starting point for people that have never been to the region before. For people like my self that have been coming to Cancun for years you can find better in some of the newer resorts thru Cancun and Riviera Maya.3 stars at best.
